New Park Announcement: Universal Kids Park in Texas! Coming in 2026.

Universal has recently announced a new theme park targeted at kids that will be arriving in Frisco, Texas, in 2026. This theme park is specifically designed for families with young children. The goal is to bring fun, genuine & adventurous engagement with the children to this park with various themes/lands. There will be characters, rides, food, and more for families to engage with. I would not think of this park as a Magic Kingdom park that has all of the bells and whistles, but as a child-friendly park to have fun. You can understand this just from their marketing and how they present this park.

When looking at these seven lands, it is safe to say that if there were an adult park, it would have at least one person waiting to attend on opening day! Here are the seven lands that they are looking to bring together for this park.

1. DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp — When we dive into this swamp, we will meet Shrek and Fiona and join them on their love journey. You will be able to meet both of these characters and engage with the swamp. The focused ride will be a trip of their love and how they were able to fall in love as different people.

2. SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom — “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants”. If you have not heard that song 100 times, then you are missing out. This land brings the top areas of Binki Bottom together: Jellyfish Fields, Mrs. Puff’s driving school, & Mussel Beach. Time to go underwater and check out the fun areas that this land holds.

3. Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club — This park is looking to be a wonderful “peaceful” wonderland with the Minions. Well, maybe not peaceful. The yellow minions are looking to tame the purple minions as they are looking to create some chaos. This land seems like a fun and crazy water ride (This is a current concept) to bring the tame and crazy minions together.

4. Jurassic World Adventure Camp — This land seems to be the adventure & thrill this park needs, with two adventure rides and a theme based around engaging with dinosaurs, what could go wrong? This land will have an adventure course in unison with the other parts of this park. You might even be able to meet a baby dinosaur at this land.

5. DreamWorks’ TrollsFest — When you wonder what the goal of this land is, you have to focus on three important things: singing, fun, & excitement! It brings together Poppy, Branc, and the other trolls to three core areas: Poppy’s Playland, Trolls Critter Crawl, and the sensory garden.

6. Puss in Boots Del Mar — Puss in Boots is all about quirky jokes & fun engagement. This land brings that together with puppet shows, a mini carnival, and some meet and greets! This takes place in Del Mar and is meant to be connected and close-knit.

7. Isle of Curiosity — The goal of this land is to be open and enjoy some rest for the parents and some free roam open play for the kids. With some benches, trees, and engagement from other characters in a dance party, it allows parents to recharge and kids to get more energy out.
