Modern Sky Entertainment is mainland China's leading music entertainment company.  With festivals all over China, as well as in Europe and the U.S., Modern Sky has developed a strong presence in three key markets.  Modern Sky USA asked Slapback to develop a web presence for their North American audience. We were asked to create a clean visual design customizing a squarespace theme that would be easy to update, highlight their artists roster and events to the public.

VICTORIA PARK HOMES VIDEO REPORT: YEAR 1 PROGRESS

The 2015 Victoria Park Community Homes Annual Video Report charts the progress of year 1 of their 2015-18 Strategic Plan.  Victoria Park had asked Slapback Media for a creative way of telling the story of 2015 at their Annual General Meeting.  Initially asked to do a print handout, Slapback came back with the idea of doing something more engaging: a video report told via a slideshow of photos and simple animations with a voice-over narration by Victoria Park Executive Director, Lori-Anne Gagne.  The end product highlights the progress, key events and partnerships of 2015 while also celebrating the work of staff and board members throughout the year.

In 2015, Paper Garden celebrated their 10th anniversary as a boutique, influential and independent record label based in Brooklyn, NY.  Lauded for many years by media, industry and local music fans for their carefully curated artist roster and showcases, Paper Garden is evolving from simply being a traditional record label, into a creative agency that connects brands, the music industry and artists together.  This transformation and growth required a new online presence, business needs and tools.  Slapback Media has designed and developed a new website for Paper Garden that will grow as they grow, fulfilling their ongoing and evolving e-commerce, communication, online marketing and social media needs.

SEAMATE TECHNICAL USER MANUALS: WRITING & DESIGN

MVS has been providing world class satellite communications products and services for over two decades. MVS USA asked Slapback to produce, write and design technical manuals for their new social networking service for long-faring sea vessels.  The manuals were developed for 4 distinct audiences: users, admins, fleet and central managers. Services included video and game rentals, messaging, gift cards, an online job boards and more.  On the administrative side: Credit allocation, sync scheduling, user creation, report creation and troubleshooting were some of the key areas the manuals for those with Fleet, admin and central management duties.  The design for all the manuals needed to be simple, easy to reference and with consideration that for many of the staff English was a second language.  As part of the writing of the manuals, we tested the UX and mad recommendations for updates.  We also included a translation of the user manual into Spanish.

GOODWILL VIDEO: CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH JOBS

For their 2015 Annual General Meeting, Goodwill asked us to produce a promo video that showed the interconnected relationship between their shoppers, donors, staff, corporate partnerships, and the beneficiaries of their employment programs - the story told from both the employer/industry and employee perspective.  It was a great opportunity to show how doing a good spring clean of your closet and donating to Goodwill could foster new employment and education opportunities that enrich local communities.

GOODWILL ANNUAL REPORT: WRITING, PHOTOGRAPHY & DESIGN

We worked with Goodwill TECNO (Toronto Eastern Central & Northern Ontario) to develop the theme, writing, design, photography and publication of their 2014 annual report.   Arriving at a theme of partnerships we developed a  magazine-style report that let the voices of the community Goodwill serve as our centerpiece.  The majority of the content are the words of corporate, local donors and program sponsors, partner organizations and clients of Goodwill employment programs on both the employee and employer side.  The annual report, aside from serving as a collection of highlights and news from the past year, is also used as one of Goodwill's main marketing pieces because of its strong messaging about Goodwill's mission and activities. VICTORIA PARK ANIMATED VIDEO: 40 YEARS OF HISTORY

Victoria Park Community Homes approached us with several goals in mind.  For incoming board members, the orientation about the history of their non-profit social housing organization was long and difficult to get through. They wanted something punchy that would give an incoming board member or a new staff person, a quick overview of the organization's history, evolution and mission.  They also wanted something that could be used at events or in sales meetings to deliver their current key messages in an engaging manner.  We proposed a short animated video to accomplish both goals.  This also served a third purpose of giving Victoria Park a stronger visual identity and more refined messaging then they had previously had access to.  The result was a stronger understanding of their brand, messages, and a new marketing tool at their disposal.
